4th Gen Seat Owners; opinion on their comfort
Hi All,
I find my '87 drivers seat to be extremely uncomfortable. Further, with over 100k on it, it's got a nice lean to the left.
Simple question for you; I can acquire a set of 1997 T.A. seats very cheap. I know they will fit etc., but I am most interested in knowing how comfortable they are. Anyone have any gripes with them?
Opinions from 3rd gen owners who converted to 4th seats would be welcomed as well.
Thanks

my '94 seats are a huge improvement over the '89 seats. they sit different too, so my knees used to hit the bottom of steering wheel or column, i don't remember, now they can be like 4 inches blow that!

1995 Z28 seats (front & back) are more comfortable then the extra cost colth seats that I had before in my 87 IROC-Z.

i put 4th gen 2002 F/B leather into my 90 camaro. firm and all power - 6 way drivers seat, bith seats have power lumbar and side support.
ride hard like a sports car, ok like a camaro. maybe its the new suspension too.
but i like them.

One of the best mods I've done so far. I like how they look better and they have more side support when cornering. Much needed upgrade to the stock cloth seats from 89.

I have a '94 T/A, and they are better than my stock seats in the Iroc. If I had to swap, I'd spend the money on a set from Summit rather than putting money towards 4th gen.
That's just my personal opinion.

I love mine, picked them up from a buddy for free.. was getting my 3rd gen seats re-done and needed a loaner set... he said i could keep them he didn't need them, so instead i had them re-done... they are really nice... although its kinda like a "racing seat" it tries to grab around you.. so if your a bigger guy i could see them being uncomfortable..
They do sit lower.. i'm 6'4" and i used to have to tilt the steering wheel up to get in and out other wise i'd hit me knees all the time...
Also they look sick... and are comfortable.. i used to drive 180+ miles back and forth from college on the weekends... my **** never got sore.

i thoroughly enjoy my seats too....they were supposedly taken out of a 02 trans am..im not sure, all iknow is that theyre firebird seats, which i like more than camaro seats just cuz i like the adjustable head rest. comfort wise, im not too sure personally for two main reasons. 1.) my old seats were worn, tattered and the cushions were destroyed and 2.) the new ones instantly had seat covers put on them (and not the good kind...the wal-mart kind) cuz this is my daily driver and i dont want the sunlight to fade the seats, i dont want stuff staining them, and i dont want the fabric being destroyed from me getting in and out all the time....here are some pics:

what do the seat brackets look like on those? cause i found some firebird seats and they don't work in mine cause the brackets are facing in the different direction then the stock ones...

Mine bolted right in... look basically identical to the 3rd gen seat brackets...

Thanks to everyone for the feedback.
Since my forum searching shows a majority of people advising against dyeing/painting the seats, I'm going to have to get seatcovers for now though, because the new seats are charcoal gray and my interior is red.

yeah i wouldn't dye them or anything you mine as well just get the fabric and have them re-done... or if you have someone that is pretty good with a sewing machine you might be able to talk them into it. It wouldn't be that hard to do... depending on the materials.

I've got the ebony leather front/rear from a 96 T/A with the manual tracks & power lumbar. Soooo much better than the worn out stock seats.
