Are individual gauge replaceable??

Is it possible to replace individual gauges in our clusters or do u have to replace the whole cluster? I have a perfectly good 140 mph cluster in my car but the temp gauge is busted.. I'd like to just to be able to replace the temp gauge.. can I?

yes you can, just pull the cluster apart and they are each held in by one or two screws, its actually really easy, i have a temp gauge out of an 86 z28 i could let you have for a couple of bucks, shoot me a pm if you need it

That is, pull the bezels (plastic and metal) from the front of cluster while it's still in place. Plug and play. Twenty minutes top for the swap.

Hmmm, now that this is a recent thread, I've kinda been wondering something. Is it possible to swap aftermarket type gauges into the cluster with some slight modification? I was mainly thinking of a Tach to replace the stock tach (I hate the idea of having two tachs, one of which sticking way out somewhere). I'm mainly curious if the depths of the gauges are similar (the diameter can obviously be chosen.)

Re: Are individual gauge replaceable??

Thanks for the info guys, I had my cluster out many times on my old rs but never noticed if it came apart. I like the idea of just replacing the broken gauge rather then looking for a whole new cluster.
