insulating door and floors
Hey all, I have searched and come up with many threads about using dynamat and similar products.I decided to use the cheap stuff that guys mention from lowes or home depot.what is it called?look like?and where can I find it.I looked at home depot and not sure what i am looking for. Also is this what I should use on the doors in place of the plastic behind the door panels? My plastic was junk when I took it off.

Re: insulating door and floors
it looks just like dynamat but just without the name on it. so therefore is looks like black tar with aluminum foil on it, i think it comes in roles, not for sure though. i dont know if i would put it on the actual door plastic was, but maybe on the back on the door panel or none at all.

Peel n Seal. Go to the roofing section of Lowes and ask for it by name. They will know what you mean. Also, I just did my car with it yesterday. Simple and quick process. Here are some pics of it

Well word to the wise, for it to do any good your going to want to put it on the metal actually causing the noise/vibration. Its made to kill the vibration on metal that cause noise.

It is for heat as well as sound dampening. I did my whole car. Floors, sail panels, doors, roof, all of it. It is cheap enough to go all out.

Peel n Seal in the roofing section at Lowes. Comes in 6" X 25' rolls for about $15 per roll IIRC. I did the passenger area and doors on my 89 with the stuff. I still need to get the cargo area and sail panels when I get a little more ambitious
