Question about swapping gauges and dome light.
Hello, I need some help with a few parts swaps. I looked around but couldnt find anything specific to the 91-92 year model Firebird, only older models. I hope to get some things clarified before I actually shell out the bucks for something that might not work.
My first question involves the Dash Gauge cluster. I have the electronic 120mph version for V8 engine and would like to upgrade it to the 140 mph type. I have read that it will work ok but the thread did not specify if the gauges would be accurate or not. Is it really as simple as pulling one out and putting the other in? Also does it have to be a 91-92 model to be compatible and look the same, or do older models use the same cluster?
My second question is about changing the dome lamp. I have the regular single lense dome lamp, with the map lights on the rear view mirror. I would like to install an overhead console with built in map lights like in the older models. Will this hook up using the existing wiring or will it require a totally different harness? And will I need to use the wiring from my mirror map lights to use the map lights in the overhead console?
If anyone has any advice about this, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Question about swapping gauges and dome light.
Yes, you can install a 140 MPH cluster with no problems. Also, any '86-'92 cluster will work. We have them available on our website if you need one.
The overhead console uses a different harness than the normal domelights do. If you buy one just make sure it comes with at least a pigtail if not the entire harness.
