hi,

I am trying to install new covers on the rear seats and I am having trouble with the hog clips. specifically on the inner ring of the bottom portion of the seat. Is there some sort of trick to get a better angle down in that groove?

I've seen people using small zip ties with great results. They seem much easier to install than hog rings.

 

the hog pins are supposed to down in that brown groove. zip ties is a great idea!

 

Don't mess with the zip ties, once you get the hang of it hog rings are MUCH easier. I'm not quite sure where you're getting hung up because the rear seat usually go pretty smooth. Are you having a hard time getting the hog ring around the seat frame?

 

yeah .. the foam seems really stiff and its hard to get the tool down in there

 

Yeah, sometimes that can be a little tough. The foam can vary in thickness and it sounds like you maybe have a seat with some thick foam to work through. Since it's on the bottom of the seat, it wouldn't hurt to remove a little bit of the foam if you're having a problem getting to the frame. Don't take off a lot, just enough to where you can get the hog ring on to the frame.

 

thanks i eventually got them in, just took me a while and a lot of pushing.

 

does anyone know where to get new foam for the front seats and how to put it in?
