Bench style backseat

Just bought another project and l was thinking about one solid backseat, like in the old camaros.
Anyone ever did this?
I was thinking l could just buy a new backseat for a 69' and work it a little and make it still look good..because l love a solid backseat, not the buckets.

You can easily do a bench seatback. I have one in my convertible. It's a stock piece. You can probably find one in a scrap yard if you can find a third-gen vert. Or maybe Ebay. But as far as the seat bottoms go, that's going to take some work.

Bench back seat, huh? "Bow-chica-bow-wow"

I think he was talking about a solid lower seat, since our cars came with both split and solid uppers.

Here's a 69 camaro

I think it can be done, you'll most likely will need to do some welding of the frame to the lower cushion(s) and custom pad the whole assembly before having new one-off upholstery made for it.

Another option is making a bridging "insert" pad for the center section covered in factory material.

If you did a 69' themed interior that would be cool....right down to a 69 grained steering wheel, it should bolt in place of the stock non-airbag steering wheel.

I knew he was talking about the entire back seat being a bench seat, that's why I said the seat part would require some work.

Whose '69 is that? The placement of those 6x9's is about the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Re: Bench style backseat

After reading your replys, l went looking at vert backseats and l think l can find one around here somewhere.l love the solid top and bottom backseat, it just looks and rides better, if you ever try to cram a friend in the back, lol.
I will make a thread on this project once l get all my stuff together and start
hopefully it will turn out as good as the picture in my head.
Thanks guys.

Re: Bench style backseat

if you want a nice comfortable seat the bench will make the people hit their heads on the roof. the car was designed for your butt to be down so your head would not hit the roof.
but comfort? try a 4th fb. their back seats were solid back and the leather buckets are very confortable. but then again i dont sit in the back of my car - and no one else does either. but i did try it once. no leg room but the butt was comfortable for the one minute i was in it.
