My car is at the body shop right now, so I can't look to see ...

The plastic trim piece under the steering column in my '88 T/A won't stay up. It's like it doesn't fit right. The previous owner did a security system install, and the panel was pulled for that, but it was not re-installed correctly and there are a bunch of wires crammed in there. There is a plastic tab broken, and it seems like it is pretty much fubar'd IMO.

Anyway, I have the piece off of a '92, but it is totally different. It is metal wrapped in foam padding and vinyl, and I'm pretty sure the bolt holes won't line up, but would this swap be possible? Has anybody done it?

 

Are you referring to the hush panel? If so then I have one that was sent to me in which was the wrong one for my IROC. I was told it came from a firebird. Let me know. Show me pics of yours and I can tell you if its the same one.
