Just curious if your arm rest are red or black.Never seen red ones.Wondering if they are standard on red int.

Mine are black. I believe later models with flame red interior had red ones.

 

the door arm rests are black in my 85 t/a w/ red /gray two tone interior, red except for top panel of door panels and the seat centers are gray.

Red armrests with red interior in mine. I think it's called carmine for 1987 and then became flame red later on. Better question too, how many people have that fake wood trim on their cars which were added on by the dealer?

So red is pretty common.I was at the JY yesterday & saw a red/red camaro.Only the dash, console, dr panel trim were black.Really stood out, shame it was thrashed.

I have a set of red arm rests I don't need. Came out of an '87 LT.

 

The ones in in my GTA are carmine red just like the rest of the interior (except dash and console).

 

Are there different shades of carmine red?Anybody know the RPO code?

 

From what I personally have seen, there is like a maroon, the carmine, and the flame. Have to look up the codes.

 

My '86 TA has red interior, I believe that it is the Flame Red color.

 

mine are red and gray, the other arm rest broke off.

 

My arm rests are black in the stock flame red interior of my 85 Z28. Sounds like this changed shortly after 85.

i had the carmine interior with carmine/maroon-ish colored arm rests. later flame red interiors had flame red armrests

 

My 82 has a Dark Claret Interior. Some of the GM literature I have calls this color carmine. All the arm rests in 82 were black regardless of the interior color. I think of it as Dark Maroon.

The RPO in 82 was 79x, where x was A, B or C and denoted the trim level.

Sorry about the late response, the are 4th gen Trans Am seats out of a 96 Trans Am. And they match perfectly! Very comfy too!

I have a red interior with black armrests.

 

Mine are red, but I plan to change them. The interior had the gray panels when I received it and there were no seats. The rest of the interior is red.

 

My armrests are red. The interior is Carmine. The year is 1987 and thankfully, no wood trim!

 

Hi guys, can you help me deciding my interior color?

I believe the interior has been changed some times before I bought the car some 10 years ago. On some interior trim parts its hand written -85 GTX.

The car is a -86 Z28. The RPO code list says “72I; Interior trim, dk carmine”, but I don’t know if the tag belongs to the car or the interior.

Please take a look at the pic and give me your thoughts.

My interior code is 72d carmine not sure what the difference in the I or d would be

 

Here some codes found on the back side of some trim parts

 

My current 85 z28 has the red interior (Code 72B, red, standard cloth) with black armrests. My old 92 z28 had the red leather (Code 732) but it had red armrests.

Here is a pic of the 85.

 

Armrests were black. Removed the red, gonna go with charcoal gray when I get my floor done. : )

 

Can 72 be the color shade, and I, B, and D have something to do if its leather or leaher/clothing or only clothing?

I understand that the name of the color change with the years (the same color are called diff. names as the years goes by?) In my case I think the interior is from -88. Would like to know the right color before I order a new headliner.

72B = Red Standard Cloth
72C = Red Custom Cloth
72D = Red Conteur Custom Cloh
72E = Red Conteur Standard Cloth
72N = Red Custom Vinyl
72R = Red Standard Vinyl

Iroc_valencia, do these seats come from a 4th gen? Yesterday I talked to one of the previous owners, the one who changed the seats, he said he bought them in Sweden. The seller told him the donor car was a -88 T/A. Anyway, they look like yours, and if yours is Dk Carmine, mine is the same. And they mach with the RPO code, the previous owner said he never changed the RPO info in the arm rest. So, my interior is al Dk Carmine and so are the seats.

Now I’m all set to order a new headliner. I think I’ll go with HawksThirdGenParts, although he didn’t have Dk Carmine, Steve said to go with just red. Do you guys have any experience if Hawks red mach with Dk Carmine?

I have never seen any yellow car with a red interior. It looks cool that way.

 

Hehe… as you can imagine the car was not yellow as new, it was white. Have been thinking about painting it back to white, but the yellow sort of grows on you. And the yellow is cool, but so is white too
