Headlight Switch for 1990 Camaro RS

Hi we recently purchased a 1990 Camaro RS which needs a little work. The thing we are working on right now is replacing the headlight switch. We went to purchase one and the wanted to know if it has daylights or not and we are not sure how to confirm this because the switch is broke and we cannot turn the headlights on. Does anyone have any additional info that may help. I would really appreciate it.

Have a switch in stock that's a direct replacement for your Camaro. Here's a link to it for you.

I'm guessing they were asking about Daytime Running Lights - which is idiotic, because no thirdgen had them - it was not an option until 1993, which is a 4th gen. So no, you don't have daytime running lights.

Honestly do you really have nothing better to do than make someone feel like an idiot? In all reality they probably called a store and the idiot behind the counter asked if they had DRLs, this guy, obviously being new to the car came here for help, instead of flaming people why cant people on this bored just accept that there are people who know ZERO about their cars, or anyone elses for that matter and want to learn? they look to us for help and we call them stupid? lets not loose new members over that stuff.

Back to the point, no daylight running lamps were not available on any 1982-1992 camaro, if your parts store is asking that, find a different parts store, or they are going to give you the wrong part, ALOT.

And Welcome to TGO Tarkiz, most people here wont call you an idiot for asking a question, but before posting, please use the search feature in the forum to see if your question has been covered.

I WAS simply implying that the idiot at the parts counter should not have asked the question to begin with - I certainly wasn't calling the poster an idiot for asking the question! AND, I wasn't even calling the parts counter person an idiot, for I don't expect that he/she would know either. I reality, it's the idiot that programmed their parts lookup software!

I'm asked idiotic questions at the parts counter every day, and it all comes back to what questions are asked on the computer system screen. Like P/S pump for an 87 IROC - everyone parts counter will ask what engine size, 305 or 350 - when in reality it doesn't matter - they both come up to the same part number.

Read any of my postings here - I'm the last one to flame anyone!

{well, I guess I flamed the custombrakelight.com guy pretty bad, but he's an A $ $ and deserves it }

Re: Headlight Switch for 1990 Camaro RS

Actually 90+ thirdgens sold in Canada had a DRL option, along with auto on at night headlights. So that's why the computer would prompt that question.

There are a lot of errors in those parts store computers, for the longest time PepBoys and Autozone listed Z28 as "performance option" which meant 1LE. So if you asked for front wheel bearings the computer would prompt to ask if it had a Z28 package, saying yes got the wrong sized bearings. I actually had a manager at PepBoys tell me that I got ripped off because I bought a "fake" IROC since it used the same bearing as a V6 car
