hardtop headliner removal???????

Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: auto
hardtop headliner removal???????

i have a 91 Z28 hardtop car and i'm trying to get the headliner down.i have all the trim around it out and the only thing that seems to be holding it in is the center interior light.i've looked at ever possible way to get this headliner out and i am stumped.can someone please tell me how to get this thing out.

There are several clips (3, IIRC) along the windshield.

i got those clips out.it seems to be held up by the interior light.i took the cover off the light and there is nothing to take the light down.????????

I'd take another look at the overhead light--I has to come down in some fashion. Something beneath the bulb perhaps.

Yes, the overhead light holds up the middle. Take of the plastic cover and remove bulb. You should see two metal studs with metal retainers (looks like a washer). I had to use needle nose pliars. Retainers are on tight. Use pliars to wiggle retainers off studs. I thought that my retainers would break but they came off. Then another plastic part of the console should come off and expose two screws. You can buy new retainer clips if needed. It's more of a pain than it should be but you can do it.

thank you everyone.i got them out.it was those two little studs in the light.now it's off to the wiring harness.LOL.
