how can i remove left/right dash vents?

is there a way to remove the dash vents in my 86 trans am?

im talking about the big ones on the left and right that can be angled up/down or side to side

they are very very dirty and gray dust inside that i cant reach and i need to remove them without breaking them

they're held in place by little tabs at the top and bottom (where they swivel). if you don't want to damage anything, you can get a thin flat head screwdriver above and below the vent toward the middle and it should pop right out.
