I recently came accross a 91 dashboard and bought it for a couple bucks. now the dashboard does not have the same grooves meant for the 89 air vents in the middle of the dashboard but it seems to look like it would fit. don't want to try unless someone has already and it came out to be a success. all the screws have the same slots just the wondering if anyone else has tried?

 

It sounds like you have a Camaro but bought a Firebird dashpad. Camaro and Firebird dashpads are different and are NOT interchangeable. All 82-92 Camaro dashpads are interchangeable but they all have the indent in the middle for the vents. Firebird dashpads don't have the indent so it sounds like you've got a Firebird pad.

 

Wait really so i can switch my 92 camaro's dash to an aftermarket digital one for the 8?-89

No, he's talking about the top dashpad, not the dash itself. 90-92 Camaro dashes are different from the 82-89 dashes and the gauges are not interchangeable.
