5thgen dash in a thirdgen?
Is it possible without heavy modification? Mounting brackets in similar places as the 4thgen, will it fit size wise? I'll do it if someone can assure me it will work.

Jeeze I swear - some people are utterly useless.
If you guys are just going to say "Buy a 5th gen" or "good luck with spending money on that" - quit wasting bandwidth.
This is obviously a "Can it be done?"
not "HEY IMMA DO THIS"
Now that my rant is over.
I really can't see this being possible with out a lot of fabrication/modifying.
It's definitely true that this would be an insane investment to do it.
We gotta remember the new camaro is not an F-Body anymore and stuff wont bolt in from it.

yeah even obtaining one would be half the battle.
you'd either have to buy a 5th gen and take it out.
or
find a wrecked one (there arent many)

There's a 5thgen dash on Ebay right now. I've got some measurements, I'll see if it will fit size wise.
I'm rebuilding the car from the ground up, so why cut corners.

Dash wont fit without a lot of modification. It lacks 5 inches in width

the 4th gen dash is close to that isnt it? i'm putting a dash from an 01 in mine there's 1 1/2 - 2 inches on each side i think i remember reading. hard to make look fantastic but its what i want opposed to a stock dash with autometer gauges.

Re: 5thgen dash in a thirdgen?
I think that since the 4th gen cars were designed when third gen cars were still being made, a lot of the dimensions and mounting of pieces were similar. The gap between 5th and 4th gen cars means they werent as able to recycle dimensions and such nearly as much as they did before. I think anything 5th gen is going to be significantly further off from our cars than any of the 4th gen stuff was.
In short, Im sure it's a lot more work than a 4th gen swap was even when that was a "new" idea.
