Re: spring for ashtray lid?

The usual problem with the springs that I find is that the holes get opened up a tad from use. A measure that can counter-act this is to gently rebend the angles in the spring so that they are 90 degree elbows (or slightly more than 90) - this has helped mine out alot. With the holes enlarging over time, there's a tendancy for a spring without sharp tight bends on the elbows to slip through the hole, and thus it doesn't work since it's not being held in place any longer.

OK, great, so where do you get springs for these? Tired of my ash tray lid opening every time I hit the brakes a little too hard.
