Need help with lower rear plastic panels -1984 Firebird
It seems I'm on this forum every day with a new problem.
Having trouble (of course) with the bottom rear plastic panels. There is a bracket that is preventing me from putting them into position. When I compared the original black panels with these tans, I notice there is a "box" in the original that isn't there with these tan panels, which is where that bracket goes. And these are from a 1984 Firebird just like mine! Now I'm thinking I need to find someone who can get these welded brackets off each side of the car. Any other ideas why these panels are so different?
UGH!!!!
Here's what I mean:
On the top left you see my original black panel, with a "box" that goes over the bracket shown on the bottom right.
On the top right, you see my "new" tan panel without this box. Now the bracket is preventing the panel from going on.

That's weird, I always thought the one with the raised part was from a late '80's model. Never seen the metal piece before.
