Heater A/C control light melted
I removed the heater controls and see that the upper right hand side of the control is melted. I look below and there is the light blub that goes into the control to light it is on the ground with a melted housing. The light still works though.
is it normal for these to melt? Also will a 92 firebird heater a/c control unit fit a 92camaro?
and also is there anyway to unclip the wire that holds the light bulb pigtail or do I have to cut and splice to get another pig tail on there?
Thanks

No it should not melt. You might want to make sure that the bulb is the correct size. You're probably going to have to splice in a new pigtail.

Re: Heater A/C control light melted
It has a few extra lightbulbs and it requires a little bit of work to fit but many people have switched over because it looks much better. If you do a search I'm pretty sure there is a thread or tech article that goes over how to change it.

If you don't find an electrical issue that caused this melting, you might want to consider an LED replacement, since they draw so little and practically no heat emitted.
