i just ripped out my interior panels and noticed that gm from the factory put on in some areas there own version of sound deadener over the rear wheel wells.

its brittle and would take a while to peel off.

can i just lay dynamat right over it or what have you guys done?

yes remove it. The stuff GM used is crap and retains moisture.

no pictures yet but the factory stuff came right off in one piece with a few tugs.

in the dead of winter ill need the propane tank heater to warm up the sound deadener just a tad to stick to the body.

i could wait til spring i might have to but im so bored in the winter ill give it a try
