i just ripped out my interior panels and noticed that gm from the factory put on in some areas there own version of sound deadener over the rear wheel wells.
its brittle and would take a while to peel off.
can i just lay dynamat right over it or what have you guys done?

yes remove it. The stuff GM used is crap and retains moisture.
