i just pulled my old hatch shade outta the shed to put back in the car and had to replace a piece of plastic on one of the ends and it came out great....but its been so long since ive had it in the car and cant remember if these retract by themselves or not. of course i dont have it mounted in the car yet due to having to cut the plastics to uncover the brackets.

if it does retract itself is it like a seatbelt where it has to be level???
i know it wont unroll unless ends are depressed. but i cant get mine to retract. any ideas???
