Front Seat Heights

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me with a probably simple question. I bought a second hand 86 camaro that needed a few jobs doing to it. Among other moronic things that the previous owner has done, he put some after market bucket seats in.........I hate them I want them out but the question is that the passenger seat is sitting noticeably higher that the driver's this seems to be due to a hump in the floor, is this right?

Re: Front Seat Heights

The hump is there for the catalytic converter on the exhaust to fit in to.

If you put in 4th gen seats, they'll be a lot more comfortable than stock 3rd gen seat, be a direct bolt in & sit a bit lower.

Re: Front Seat Heights

Cheers for that Stephen....... so does the stock passenger seat accommodate for this hump so that both seats will line up correctly, I have only ever seen one third gen camaro (the one I own) so I have nothing to compare to!
thanks

Re: Front Seat Heights

Yes. The drivers side mounts higher, or passenger side lower, however you wanna look at it. In the end, they do sit level with each other.
