4TH Gen seats into GTA lumbar tube hookup query
Hey All
Got a nice deal on some leather '01 WS6 seats. Going to swap them into my '90 GTA (cloth)
Anyway, done a alot of searching and am pretty clued up now on the wiring - however, I have a query about the lumbar tubes.
The WS6 seats come with two tube connectors - i.e. two vacuum tubes between the drivers and passengers seat. From my searching, the GTA only has a single tube between the seats.
Can I confirm this is correct (only one vacuum tube between GTA seats) and next an easy solution or will it mean feeding through another tube under the carpet/ centre console (really hoping that isn't the solution)
Thanks guys

Re: 4TH Gen seats into GTA lumbar tube hookup query
Well fitted these today - some info for anyone interested in doing the swap
The gta has a power feed on the drivers side only and the '01 T/A seats require it on both sides. With this in mind, I decided to just route another a vacuum line rather then tempt using just one. Routing was a bit of a pain but doable without taking the centre console (just pop the cover with the swtiches/ gear surround and feed through both ends under the carpert - the carpet is cut around the console centre)
I used windscreen washer tubing for another vacuum line and it was fine.
TBH, given you have to the splice the plugs and run another vacuum line, I would say having the ultima seats does not really make this install that much easier.
A quick note also the backs went in fine - same fittings etc. Note the back and base are slightly smaller than the GTA rear seats (and other 3rd gen ones I presume) - they still lock at the top (folding seats) but you have little margin of error to centre them - not an issue, just something to be aware of when fitting.
Fitted it all in a morning and have just finished getting my preferred driving position.
Last to note - I have adjusted the seat all the way down and do not feel like I sit any lower than in the GTA seats - just something I'd put out there
