You should not have any problems unless theres a air bag in the way?....or you're trying to add a 88' wheel with stereo controls,it all should just go right on!...I got a 91' with 85' trans am wheel.no sweat,just pulled the fuse and snipped and sealed the wires and wired in the horn and the rest is history!

thank you, theres no air bag lol so i should be good to go 
i found an 87 GTA steering wheel mint today complete with the GTA emblem on the horn button, after 4 months of searching!!!
