IP Question

Ive got a very simple question that im sure has a very simple answer to it... Excuse me for being dumb but, my speedo in my car only goes to 85MPH, if i put in a gauge inlay kit with lets say a 145MPH speedo, this should accurately tell me my speed after 85MPH??

To be more specific, heres the kit im looking at.....

Please and thank you as always..

Re: IP Question

your speed would be way off. the gauge face doesnt determine how the needle moves. if you want a speedo that goes over 85mph, youll havta replace the whole gauge.

Re: IP Question

Just as i thought.. I couldnt see how placing a new inlay would change how the speedo actually works.. If none of the mechanical parts change, nothing changes how the needle moves.

Thank you for the info!!

Re: IP Question

i had a set of those white gauge faces when i had my stock gauges. they were back lit with blue leds instead of the stock bulbs. they looked great but stock gauges are still stock gauges.

Re: IP Question

I see.. Thanks for the info. I think im going to go to the junkyard and find me a 140 speedo or something cause i do believe my car might see speeds in excess of 85MPH every now and then.
