well i have a 92 rs and it came with the black vinyl pull out shade for the rear. well the problem is it doesnt roll back up and i was wondering is there a way to fix this? i dont have money other wise iw ould just buy a new one from here, assumeing i would be able to find one anywas.

 

the roll-up mechanics are just like an old fashioned window shade . first make sure its not installed up-side down . ( sounds silly but i have seen done , shade should roll over going onto spool ) . take one side loose from mount and roll it fwd. , towards front of car . you should start to feel the spring tension build-up . don't over do it , apply only as much tension as needed to fully roll shade in . if this does not work internal spring may be broken . good luck .

 

well it wasnt on wrong but this is weird if i play with it some i can get it to roll up about 1/4 of the way, but thats it. how ever i did take one side off and held it to test the spring tension like you said and i fell it but after a few turns i guess the tension is to much? bc it slips? and the tension is gone, but keep rolling it it builds back up and repeats. but the tension isnt that strong when it builds. so im thinking bad spring? how do i take this thing apart to look inside?

 

anyone now how to NOT break this to take it apart? really want to fix it.
