I'M A BIG DUMMY !!!

O.K. a few days ago i pulled my front seats to get them re-furbished . improve bolsters , seat & lumbar support , repair worn stiching etc. . ( i have 4th gen seats , factory fake leather ) i picked them up today , great job by local upholstery shop . re-install , easy job right . wrong , i could not get them to line up with studs in floor . figured extra padding on bolsters was the problem . ( 100+ degree weather in gulf coast did not help ) WRONG , seat tracks where 1 notch off from being square . after much sweat i realized the problem . inner & outer seat tracks did not have matching adjusting notches . when i squared seat tracks , dropped into place . i am not sure if the seat tracks are 3rd or 4th gen . anyway i hope just 1 person may be helped by my goof up . good luck to all from todays big dummy .

I'm laughing with you, not at you! I did the same thing when I took my seats out for paint, months later when I was reassembling the car, I could not get those freakin' seats in to save my life! I have 4th gen seats as well, and after a bit of cursing, found the same problem - one track was one click off from the other! Best lesson learned is the hard lesson, huh?

Re: I'M A BIG DUMMY !!!

Thats not too hard to remedy. Slip the front two feet over the studs and thread the nuts on them a few turns. The rear feet will be nowhere close to lining up. Now pull the slider lever and rotate the whole seat until the rears line up. Its not difficult since the fronts are already set

had the same problem when I bought my 4th gen seats. I was cussing everyoe who told me they were a drop in installation until I realized the tracks would slide independently from each other...
