Ima a do it yourselfer (not cheap just how I am) and I've been thinking of a way to make a new headliner (not referbish). I think I have a good idea. Tell me what you think.
1. Remover old head liner
2. Line inside with foil
3. Get a can of Great Stuff (or any brand of stiff foam in a can)
4. Fill inner molding with foam and let it set
5. Remover foam molding and rap with foil
6. fiberglass the foil rapped foam molding
7. Sand smooth and paint

careful not to get expanding-type foam or you'll deform your current headliner (not to mention make the mold too wide for the new one)
also make sure to put something on the new foil prior to laying down the fiberglass or they could get stuck together.
i like the woven cloth 'glass for doing areas that need to be curved; more flexible than the chopped mat.
good idea overall though, but get ready for sanding fun

yup lots of work
the headliner can flex quite a bit when not installed. you'd have to be sure it's sitting just right. maybe you can make a mold from the outside of the old headliner while it's installed in the car. Then again, the original can probably be hardened with resin and then gel coated and painted itself.
Thanks I think I will line it wit water proof foam instead of foil o think it would make less of a mess if it works I will post pictures and instructions

im toying with the idea of taking my t top headliner out and removing the fabric, and tem fiberglassing the visible surface then sand it smooth and then paint it. i have 1 bad spot right in the corner where the t tops are. it looks like ti got a litte wet. not bad but i dont like it(im picky).
