Probably not rare, but new to me.
I've only been looking closely at Third Generation Options since I began to restore my '92 RS, about a year ago, and since then I've gone over lot of cars, collected a lot of different parts, and figured I'd seen most of the options that were available from GM (the previous two discoveries I've made were a cloth T-Top bag [way different from the one in my '92], and the cool little Firebird/Camaro flashlights inside the overhead consoles. But this week a car arrived at the wreckers with 3 items on it that I've never seen before. They all may be really common to early year cars, but they were new to me. The car was an '84 Camaro sport coupe, dark brown with brown (leather?) interior. Early rally wheels and manual trans. The items new to me were: The dash emblem (pictured, in front) which just says CAMARO in slightly larger letters and no shield, a non-air conditioner dash panel, with only vents in the middle, none on the ends, and two crazy ugly non-streamlined door mirrors.
Have I just not been paying enough attention and these items are fairly common, or should I grab the mirrors and dash? (I already got the emblem).
I'm sure this has been discussed at ThirdGen before, but what are some of the rarer parts?

Sounds like the standard mirrors, though not really rare, they're hard to find. Most people checked the sport mirrors option, just like they did with 2nd Gens where cars with the single standard mirror are extremely rare.
The non-AC parts are really hard to come by as well, I doubt they would bring big bucks but it's a good thing to keep them aside. Especially the vent box on the firewall, I've seen one sell for a couple hundred dollars on eBay.
82-84s have many oddball parts.
I'd like to see the cloth T-Tops bag, what car does it comes from ? Are you sure it's original ?

I didn't pull that item at the time, because of a tear or something. But I examined it closely and it looked factory to me. I may just have to go take another look.
Thanks for the input. How's the beach out there? Probably a little less crowded now days. Cheers Mate!
