Finished my 4th gen seat swap

Pretty happy with how it turned out. Definitely an easy mod to spruce up the inside.

Re: Finished my 4th gen seat swap

Them some nice seats and look as if they came with and were made especially for the car. Did you purchase them in that condition or did you get them redone?

Re: Finished my 4th gen seat swap

I found them on a local f-body forum. They came out of a 96 z-28 that the owner had them redone.

Thats a '90-'92 steering wheel.

I think I would've recovered the rear speaker (Sail) panels in black, but overall, I really like the look!

Very nice, I love that look. Black armrests would pop and look pretty sharp too, maybe the sail panels, not sure. But as is, beautiful!

Yes, but all 4th gens has 1-piece folding backs, unlike some of the 3rd gen split seat backs.

Re: Finished my 4th gen seat swap

Sounds like this was a direct bolt in, so am I safe to presume that if I find the drivers side electical chassis for the seat from a Gen4 Camaro it will bolt in directly into my 88 IROC? Are the electrical connections the same?

Bolt-in yes. Plug-in no. The wires require cutting & splicing of the wires.

Sarcastic or just plain rude? I can't decide which one you were being there. Little bit of both, I'd say. I stated it clearly & you posted what???? Try saying something productive. Your Post was of zero help here.

If you think it is just 2 wires...You better have a handful of fuses on hand when you start doing this.

Re: Finished my 4th gen seat swap

Looks good, I'm swapping the seats from my 93Z into my 89 IROCZ drop. The seatbelt guides on the back seat wont fit, so they're coming off( who needs those?) What size bolts did you use to secure the back bottoms?

As for the power, the wires are the same but the connector is different, one is vertical(89 I think) and the other is horizontal. 2 min fix max. they fit nice though!

Re: Finished my 4th gen seat swap

I was able to take the 94 electric driver side seat chassis and simply plug the same three plugs used from the 88 control panel into the motors and everything worked as designed.
