I have an 83 Firebird S/E and i have a new shifter but i am looking for the ****. My current one doesnt have the internal pieces so my transmission doesnt lock and i can slide the shifter without locking it. Anyone know a good place to find the **** and the internal pieces?

 

The '83 Auto Firebirds had a one year only "t" shaped shifter, you'd be lucky to find new parts for this ! I'd look for a complete **** on the classifieds if I were you, or maybe replace it with an 84-92 shifter **** if it's bolt on.
