Rust Removal On IROC Horn Button

Snagged a horn button that looks perfect on the front, but the back is rusty.
1) What should I use to remove the rust?
2) Once removed, can it be coated to prevent future rust?
3) Will my steering wheel, which is in great shape, start rusting if I can't remove all of the rust?

Re: Rust Removal On IROC Horn Button

so it's just the horn button? Why worry about it at all? You can't see it once it's installed. They all develop a little bit of surface rust over time, but it's nothing to be concerned with. If yours has a bit more than most, just grab a used one, or sand it with some sandpaper until you're satisfied.
