difficulty putting gauge cluster back in...
Removed it easily enough once the speedo was disconnected, but I am having difficulty getting the gauge cluster back in, I got it over the part of the steering wheel that tilts, but I can't quite get it low enough to slide it the rest of the way into its little cubby hole, could use a tip =/

Try droppingthe steering shaft. look under the dash there are two bolts ( i think 1/2 inch) and loosen them up alittle to allow the shaft to drop alittle, you should be able to get them in now.

Sometimes you can tilt the assembly with the top forward and it will slip in/out. Sometimes it won't, but if you pulled it (at the same point of disassembly) it should go back in.
If it becomes too frustrating, dropping the steering shaft becomes relatively easier.

I did, made all the difference, lol. Just doesn't make sense though, I wouldn't say getting it out was easy, but it wasn't impossible..and I didn't touch the steering shaft nuts either.

Sounds about right. I get stubborn sometimes and had one that just wouldn't go back in without dropping it no matter what I tried.

I had to tilt the wheel all the way down and then remove the tilt lever to make it easier
