v8 tach converted to v6 tach via resistor swap

Axle/Gears: 3.23(?), 3.42
v8 tach converted to v6 tach via resistor swap
I know it can be done, because people have done this the other way around, but what I need to know is which resistor needs swapped out, and what type needs to go in to convert a v8 tach to a v6 one, long story short my "v6" cluster that I bought is def not from a v6 and the seller insists it was, and the only solution they offered is shipping it back at my expense...that is not a viable solution.....
