Sounds like motor has come out of regulator - take door panel off and see.
At this age, it's time to replace window motors anyway - do a
for "bogus" and you'll see a thread on the easy way to change out motors.

It could be the lubricant, which would require removing the inner door panel and spraying it with graphite. also, dc motors react to cold, meaning it could be showing that the window motor is going bad and the cold is showing it sooner than later.
