Re: New Reproduction Seat Foam
THAT is AWESOME! I was wondering what i was gonna do when i got to that point. If i'm going to reupholster a seat, i don't want to use the old foam. Do you guys offer that foam for 93-02 applications as well?
Re: New Reproduction Seat Foam
The true question is, how accurate are these? Please do us all a favor and tell us they are vastly superior in quality/accuracy to the seat covers floating around the world for our cars.

What's wrong with the seat covers? They're a good product, they just don't use the OEM fabrics because those are long extinct, and nobody is willing to pay what it would cost to reproduce the OEM fabrics.

Re: New Reproduction Seat Foam
With all these new repo parts maybe some day Hawks will have Dynacorn re-pop the 3rd gen car bodys like the 69s!
We could then build a brand new 3rdgen from the ground up !

I wouldn't hold your breath. The line of guys who would spend $50k-100k to build a car that's worth about $5k when it's done is pretty short.

Have you seen them? The grain pattern isn't even right. Hell, neither is the color...two things manufcturers could've got right with minimal effort if they had set out to make a quality product.
People always cite that the material is no longer available; surely GM used off the shelf fabrics instead of delving into the world of synthetic polymer fabric development? They can be redone exactly, it just takes effort and someone in the textile industry to identify exactly what it is, then get licensing and they can be made.
I'm excited about these seat foams, but not if they're the typical "good enough for those guys" parts like so many others. Here's hoping for some good news from Hawk's on these.

Most every manufacturer use thier own blend of colors. This is why its hard to reproduce OEM stuff. The materials might be "off the shelf", but not the color.
