Car Seats
I have an 87 Trans Am and I am looking for a front seat.
I have seen several racing seats with and without rails for sale
My question is with rails will any racing seat fit my car?
If the racing seat does not have rails where would I find rails?
Can I take the rails off of my stock seat that is no more good and use them on the racing seat?
I realize these questions may be so general that it is hard to assess if it can be done or not but are racing seats universal for the most part
Confused Noob sorry

Re: Car Seats
some of the better seat companies (recaro, sparco, corbeau, etc) offer rails that will make the seats a bolt-in for our cars, though from what I understand, they can position the seat rather high in the car.
Most other seat companies either model their seat frames off of one of the big names, which means that big name's rails will work with their seat, or you need to come up with your own solution, either by adapting the seats to your stock rails or by adapting the "universal" rails to work with your floor pan.

Re: Car Seats
Are you lookign for a "racing" seat or just a front seat? I'd suggest getting a 4th gen seat as they are really comfortable and bolt right in.

Re: Car Seats
I have to find a seat pretty quick, I have it rigged up so it holds but the back is precariously holding and will recline soon without my consent hahaha
and the crow foot on the left hand side of the driver's seat is holding down by sheer luck with an oversized washer I found in My "random parts drawer" of my tool box.
So if I can grab a cheap seat off of craigslist for 50$ in the meantime until I get Stock seats I have been told the 4th Gen seats are really comfortable and plan on changing both to that when I find a pair
