Need your guys's opinion- 4th gen counsel
Im really debating on whether i should swap out my stock counsel for a 4th gen. on mine, the driver side plastic is warped and detached from the wood. And the center where the buttons are is all faded. Im not very found of the color either. And i some shorts with the wires in the counsel and ive had to replace a few. heres some pics, whats your opinion?

Do you kinda see what i mean? The car is black on black and the interior i just dont like the color, but i know for SURE i want a new center counsel and shift ****. whats your guys's opnions?

First off, it's console, not counsel. Secondly, you can swap a 4th gen console with very little headache. It's really personal preferance and how much you are willing to spend.

If you use a 4th gen console you could fab a peice of abs plastic to fit in the ashtray opening or the cubbyhole hole in front of the shifter. Search the forum for some ideas. Almost everything has been done already.

If you're a tightwad like I am, you can repair that console. Just did it this week.
Trim the overbulged foam a bit. Then clean the crack and fill it with Gorilla glue. Then clamp it along it's entire length with as many clamps as you can find. Turned out really nice for $5.

Oh i forgot about clamps! :O haha
I tried 3m adhesive on it but it didnt stay there too well=/ haha
And for some reason, the top part of my console wont come off?
Like i get the screws out under the console lid and that part lifts up, put the part by the ashtray is like..jammed in there
i looked and i didnt see screws and when i looked on here everyone said it just popped out cause of brackets
But mine wont move=/

Once you get the 3 screws out, there are still 3 spring clips holding the trim down. 1 under the ashtray and 2 just ahead of the window switches. Just pop the entire trim plate straight up.

I would swap it for a 4thgen - They're basically a direct bolt in on the 'birds. You'll have to figure out where you want to place the window switches and the mirror stuff, but its all pretty easy and been covered a million times.

No way,fix it,keep it original.I used all purpose PVC glue.shim sticks and a couple clamps.Just put one stick and two clamps for each side, you don't want clamp marks in the plether, and have a little patience and leave it alone for a day and let it dry.
