Door Squeaks

This is driving me crazy, sometimes it does it sometimes it does not , mainly when its cold outside u can hear it coming from the passanger door around were all the lock mechanism is, were all the rods and stuff like that is, i have sprayed white lithium grease around all the moving parts but it still doing all the noises, i have adjusted the windows so they are really nice and solid in all possitions but i just cant figure out were these noises are coming from inside the door, the door itself outside has a small rubber bump stop that meets with the body when the door is shut maybe that is whats causing the squeaks since its rubber agains metal but i doubt it since it sounds more like a metal squeak. Ill give the little rubber piece and the place were it meets the body a shot of white grease and see if that solves the problem.

I've got one squeak that drives me NUTS - I thought it was my mirror coming loose, but after taking the door panel off and finding everything tight, I noticed that the weld between the door skin and door inner had broken right under where the mirror was, right at the corner. It drives me nuts, but until I go to paint the car, I'm not going to worry about it, as rewelding it will likely burn the paint on the outside.

Yeah i have tried all of that but its something different, the passenger door does it more often and louder than the drivers side door, what its weird is that while the door is making the sounds i open the door and it goes away and the close it really hard and it remains quiet. Maybe Ill try what you say and put zipties were all the rods go into a hole wich all have a lot of play and rattle when going over hard bumps.

Now like i said its prolly something around the area were the locks are and since it only does it while the door is closed i think it must be a binding issue between all the rubber isulation meeting with the metal body cuz it only appears to start squeaking when its cold outside, i live in florida so not really cold but just a little cold like around 65 degrees outside and it will start to squeak like crazy , the passenger side more than drivers. I really want to get rid of the noises cuz im selling the car and i dont want it to comeback when someone is test driving the car they would think its freaking falling appart.

Re: Door Squeaks

If your car has ttops, there is a metal ramp above the rear vent in the door jamb. This allows the gap to remain constant with body twisting and such. Under that ramp is a small plastic spacer. Remove the spacer and reinstall the metal piece. Check to see if this helps. It might be a sign that the door hinges are starting to sag and putting too much pressure on that metal plate.
