Removing Seat Brackets

Removing Seat Brackets

I have a 1985 Camaro and just took my seats out but i wanta keep the brackets that connect to the floor/seat adjusters, how do i remove these if i can?? It's probably simple and im just mising it :x

The sliders/adjusters are just bolted to the bottom of the seat..


If you're talking about the braces with the studs on them that are attached to the floor, those are welded. You'd have to use an air chisel or drill out the spot welds.

Ya i need the braces, i ordered new seats that came with sliders, the old sliders dont fit on them. The adapter brackets are $190 and i just dont have it now, so i was hoping it'd be easier then that, or i may see if theres someone around me that can make some themselves cheaper. Thanks though G-reg.

most of the time. the aftermarket seats. have the rails set the same width. but run a bit short about 1 and 1/2" short. you can make the adapter. to bolt op your facry GM seat rails to the New seats.

if your under 5'8" tall it works out. if taller you need to use 2 sets of pasngr side GM rails. to get the driver side to sit low enof to fit a taller driver.
i have a full post with photos to take a look. you will see what im talking about.
