4th gen dash fresh air intake

Engine: LS1
Transmission: 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 4.10 4th gen
4th gen dash fresh air intake
I'm swapping my 4th gen dash along with the LS1 and most everything else. I've decieded to use the 4th gen heat and a/c box that mounts under the dash and to the fire wall. My question is can I just block off the duct that draws fresh air outside the car and have it just pull in air from the interior or does it have to have outside air.

Just made my day!!! I was hoping it could be done. .. now I know im not crazy lol!!!! So you ended up using the frame you cut from the forth gen?

I'm going to start mine in a week or so. I've just been busy with other things on the car and engine. I will keep you posted on how it goes. Do you have a complete 4th gen donor car?
