Hello C.M.Jones!!

Anything is possible, in your case there is no VATS to worry about, so get your locks rekeyed to one key!!

Now is this practical, for you, it probably makes sense, as you have your reasons for wanting to do this!!

(You can only drive one car at a time, so why would you need them keyed the same, )

Beware that if someone gets your "key", both cars are subject to easy theft, and not just one if keyed individually!!

A key or ten seconds with a screw driver, both cars are subject to easy theft as they are right now!!!

If you see many period GM's in the junkyard, odds are eventually you will come across an ignition switch and door tumblers that match. While there are about a hundred different key combination's spanning the era, far fewer are actually used often. Maybe 40 or so get used with certain combination's being more popular than others.

You can take one of the ign cylinders out and take it with the other car key to a locksmith and they can rekey the lock cyl to work with the other key. Cost maybe $30.
