4TH Gen swan help...
I just got a 96' Conv. Z28 donor car. I have already swapped the whole drivetrain out, to put in my 85' IROC. Was just wondering what all swaps over from the interior? I never tried to swap the interior from 3RD to 4TH Gen before, only the drivetrains. so does everything swap over or only a few pieces?? any help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

Re: 4TH Gen swan help...
They can be swapped but they aren't a direct swap. Some modification is necessary to make them work but it has been done. As JamesC mentioned, a search will get you all the information you could want. Virtually every swap question that could ever be asked has been asked and answered before. Whatever you are thinking, someone else probably already thought about and did. Having pulled the third generation interior all the way out and gutting a car down to the bare body I can tell you that you are in for some serious work where the wiring is concerned. However, it has all been figured out for you. We have tons of threads on the subject.
Plenty of cars around here have fourth generation interiors in them. I think the allure of swapping in the fourth generation stuff is to bring the car up to date and current. It was neat when the fourth generation cars were current but given their age now, it's not so modern looking. I used to love the fourth gen swaps, but now they look dated but lack the charm of the third generation interior. After all a third gen with it's stock interior in good shape is a nice classic. Add in a fourth generation interior and you have a mix of parts that don't look right together. Though some things about the fourth generation interiors such as the center console were just built better and make a lot more sense in regard to design and functionality. But in my opinion I'd probably stop at the seats and the center console, but that's just me. None of the rest of it really is necessary, nor does it even look all that good. It also isn't worth the massive effort to do so. Again that's just my opinion but if you are dead set on doing it, you'll find everything you need through the many threads where it's been asked about and done.
Good luck with your project.
