Heres a stumper.

Alright so the other night i was driving and it started to get dark so i turned the lights on and noticed a small red led in the panel under the light ****. Its right where the fog light switch would go, but i dont have fog lights. anyway i pulled off the panel today only to find out the led isn't connected to anything. So my question is... has anyone seen this before or most likely did a PO put this in?

in advance.

Well if it is a LED light then the PO put it there. To my knowledge there were no LED lights used in cars until recently due to the cost. As in look at the cost and level of technology in 1986 versus today.

Harrison is correct, that was something the PO did for either just a cool light effect or because when the switch was in there the lightbulb burned out

Re: Heres a stumper.

could have been installed for a security system too. my tahoe has a red led not hooked up to anything because they ripped out the security system before trading it in. now i have a hole drilled in my dash...

Re: Heres a stumper.

I had one of those in my car except it was in the center counsel. it WAS for an alarm system but it was removed. i ended up replacing the center counsel because of all the holes that were drilled in it.

Re: Heres a stumper.

thanks for all the replys. i figured it wasn't stock but had no clue. another interesting thing i found in my car to day is a small momentary push button, it was behind the fuse box and again not hooked to anything. its funny finding all of these little things just not hooked up.
