Headlight housing help

So i just got some new headlights and installed them and everything but when i drove at night the lights shot straight out and not on th road. Yes I do know what this is, i simply have to adjust them but the reason they wont go down is cuz i didnt put the spring on. I know you simply take some needle nose and pull the sprin out and attach it to the bezel butttt its not as easy when trying no to mess up the paint. this was done on purpose due to the fact of fresh paint i didnt want to scratch messing around w/ the spring that is a pain
So my question.... is there an easier way to attach the spring or what have you done to fix this?
thanks

Re: Headlight housing help

I had difficulties with the spring myself and just left it disconnected, but it sounds to me like your headlights might be installed upside down. I have no problems with mine not hitting the road and they aren't even adjusted yet, hell my one pair doesn't even have adjustment screws on the sides(haven't gotten to replacing them yet).

Re: Headlight housing help

those springs work in conjuction with the adjusment screws to keep the light from moving. without the springs, the light is free to move around. are you able to adjust them so they do point were they need to be without the springs?
