Roof console noise...anyone?

Ok stupid post i admit it but... its driving me nuts....

Recently had my old headliner re done. The guy used the newer ABS type one for a t-top car. Looks great, however now the overhead console seems to make alot of queeks and nosies on bumpy roads. anyone else have this issue? I was thinking about removing the console to see if i could see anything but worried I might break it.

Overhead console removal is easy - remove cabin light cover, use needlenose pliers and remove the two pushnuts off the studs inside the light box. Then, the console simply slides back about 1 inch, and drops down. Sounds like the ABS is not thick enough - stuff some old T-shirt pieces between console and headliner, and slide it back into place.

With the T-top version, you'll slide the console forward toward the windshield. With the coupe version, you'll slide the console rearward toward the hatch.

The coupe version, BTW, has a cardboard and foam reinforcement that goes between the headliner and roof.
