im actually using my stock brackets, but i had to modify mine by adding a 1/8" x 2" wide plate welded to the outside rail since the seats site a bit wider. ill take pics and show you tomorrow

I got these from Arizen Racing they pretty much build it how you want it, you can also order them with custom brackets that fit perfect.

theyll probably bolt up but they look wide and might not let you open your center console.

I was thinking of buying Summit Sport seats, which have brackets that you can buy that make them a direct bolt-in. Only thing is the brackets cost almost as much as the seats! Anyone have the summit seats in their third gens?

Re: Racing seats...
Jeg's sells the SCAT Procar seats for $157 w/velour or $189 w/faux leather. And the direct fit brackets are $67 each. So both brackets together aer still less that 1 seat.
I've had SCAT Rally Recliner seats before & loved them. I would expect the same for the Procars.

http://www.jegs.com/i/Scat/942/81168...oductId=772086
Every time I want to order mine, something else comes up & takes my money I had set aside.

Re: Racing seats...
I agree, as long as the console has back, the carpet can be tan/beechwood and just put some black in the door panels to accent the seats/console.
Thats kinda what I did with mine except red/black. Red seats on an otherwise all black interior worked out when the door panels were accented to match, and the red tones are also found in the brakes, engine, and suspension parts. So it all works out
EDIT:
sorta like this but with blacker seats and the black thirdgen console

Ya I'm hoping their not too wide. but ill have to see when their brought to my house. Do you need a cage to have the belts that run through the seats?

properly, yes ^^
@Orr
yeah definitely..would have to do some black accenting on the door panels but maybe my cage will contrast enough?

I'll eventually be buying a set as well. Though I don't think I will buy the brackets, I will find a way to graft them onto 4th gen rails.

We're running Kirkey Intermediates in our Firebird, but it's a C Prepared Autocross car. They are very comfy to me, though, and I've considered installing one in my DD Impala SS. I'll probably use a spare Corbeau, though, in case someone else wants to drive it.

Re: Racing seats...
just use factry GM seat rails.2 sets of Pasngr side rails to get the seats a bit lower on the driver side. just swap out the rear legs on the (driver side) also
the flash makes them look almost pink.. but the red is close to the flame red of the cars
insides. note pasngr seat rails on drivers seat
rear rail cap left off for pics
also note: not in photos. the shoulder belt hanger above. is now mounted to rollbar. making for a almost factry looking install.

question???
how do you "swap out legs" when they are rivited on? are you grinding them off them using bolts to secure the legs?, pictures?

Re: Racing seats...
swaping seat rail legs:
you drill out the rivets. and use grade 8 bolts to install shorter legs (fiero) rear legs. for guys over 6'4"
using pasgr seat rails on both sides drops the front down low.
using fiero seat rails by the way are 1" taller in front then reg camaro pasngr seat rails. so mixing matching makes for a low set of rails that take all the GM parts. so when finnished the GM end caps also go back on and look good.
have cut the rear legs removing 1"(using a disk) from them and welding them back together..makes them 1 in shorter. also.
see how low and with the GM camaro rail caps back in place.. its all about the small things. note: seat is all the way back.
and yes that carpet is pushing 20 years old.. Lingenfelter 92 Z28. still smells new.. just a bit dusty..

Re: Racing seats...
I second that, you don't see any of these pics with beechwood interior. But I have a love for the GTA seats...I'll just get mine recovered. Those ebay seats don't feel cheap to you guys? I got in a car with them installed one time and did not like them at all. The only thing that could make me change is if I was forced to install a harness for the track.

great seats, but since they don't recline, they MUST be used with a roll bar of some sort, which Orr is doing correctly. This is just a note for others' info.

[QUOTE=1MeanZ;5028330]a 5 or 6 point harness can not be safely used with the stock seats. What do you plan to anchor the belts too? The whole seats/harness/rollbar combination has to be carefully considered in a street car so that you don't actually make the car dangerous.
oh okay cool..thats why i asked before i jumped on anything thanks

hello, I'm new to this. I was wondering if you would put racing seats plus belts into my 1982 Firebird, would you need a roll cage or could you bolt them to the the ground behind the seats thanks.

Re: Racing seats...
In Corbeaus words:
It is strongly recommended that the shoulder harnesses be fitted as close to horizontal as possible. It is a must that the angle of the shoulder harness does not exceed 45 degrees in relation to the theoretical horizontal axis of the mounting points. Never anchor straight down behind the back. (See diagram for recommended anchorage points).
The lowest point that MIGHT work is behind the back seats at the bottom of the backrests (behind the bottom cushions) but that is dependent on measuring the specific car. I would recommend using the rear deck behind the rear seat after the mounting point has been approximately reinforced. Simply drilling a hole & mounting it there is NOT adequate.
I highly recommend the C points in the attached pics, if a roll bar/cage with a harness bar is not being used.

Re: Racing seats...
The shoulder straps need to be at a certain height, which is way above the floor. Attach them to the floor & your risking spinal compression in a wreck.

Mine anchors to points D/E in that picture. Over the roll bar and attaches to the rear seat belt holes.
The seats themselves dont recline but I stuck them on the factory power rails so I do get alittle adjustability with the recline

Either try this from a 4th gen (i've never tried to fit me so no clue how well the mount would fit) or build one.
