remove dash on a 1986 camaro
remove dash on a 1986 camaro
Does anyone know where the bolts are and how many there are to remove the dashboard? Maybe a step by step process? The only reason is to pull the rest of the wireing harness.

Welcome to the site!
If you use the search engine at the middle/top of the page you can find a wealth of information.
6 bolts and 4 screws hold it in place. 4 screws are in the defogger opening areas and the six bolts are under the lip that hangs over the dash area. Be careful when removing it; the vinyl can crack easily and these things aren't cheap!

"majobis" is correct on the dash pad,
but do you want to remove the entire dash assembly?
Why do you want to remove the entire wiring harness? just curious.
I can walk you through it, if you want?
It takes patience and some time.

It's not that hard remove the center console first. Then the dash pad. Then go under the dash and remove all the litlle bolts, theres a **** load of bolts 7 mm is what I used. Take them all out then try working the dash off. You might miss a few just work it out and you'll get it just have LOTS of patience. Lower he column to it makes it a lot easier in my opinion. Hope it helps I'm in the process of a 4th gen dash right now as I type and just got the dash out
