Need ideas on custom hatch lock

Okay didnt really see anything in the search but im looking for a custom hatch lock thats not as big and clunky as our stock ones. I have a fuel cell with a door in the back that wont allow me to run our stock one. Has anyone come up with an idea or a company that makes a modified one? im kind of lost what to do. It need to be like a hook that is connected to my key latch. But the key latch is plastic so i cant just weld something. ill post a pic of the hatch area im working with in one second

Re: Need ideas on custom hatch lock

If your talking about an ed quay fuel cell that sits in the trunk area I feel your pain.. No where on his web site does it say that the fuel cell will only fit w the non electric pull down hatch lock.. What I plan on doing is cutting the old hatch setup out and grafting the non electic style latch in.. Already cut the back of a junk yard car out w extra sheet metal for alignment purposes. Way more involved than I wanted this to be but, if it were easy everyone would do it I guess haha.
