Front bucket seats '87 Formula
Front bucket seats '87 Formula
My formula has full red, stock interior. The two front seats are heavily faded... Looking for a economic fix, but rather not just have slip-on universal seat covers on them. I have never tried to re-upholstery seats, assuming I can do that... but they're like $300+ for Upholstery everywhere I've looked... I don't care to keep it original, are there any universal upholstery sets or something along that line that would be a decent option? Have also been considering completely replacing the seats if I can find something that is red and cheap.... any ideas or links to seats/cover/upholstery sets?

To do your own upholstery will require
a) a commercial grade "walking foot" machine,
usually $400 minimum, used.
b) lots of time to to sew stuff by hand -- after you've made the patterns.
Otherwise,
-- Classifieds on this board.
(I saw a guy in Fla. had a really sweet set not long ago.)
-- Start a thread in the WTB classifieds.
-- E-bay,
-- Restoration suppliers like Classic Industries, Year One, and possibly
1-A, who is also a board supporter.
Good luck,
