How much work goes into making an Auto 4th gen console fit?

Axle/Gears: 3.23
How much work goes into making an Auto 4th gen console fit?

Ive heard using the auto shift plate causes the consoe to slide too foward because the 3rd gen shift handle is different. Any way to get past this? If not ill just use the manual plate
