hawksthirdgen headliner
I'm planning to order a new headliner, sun visor, and sail panels for my Trans Am. Saw a nice headliner set over at hawksthirdgen parts. I was wondering if anyone knew if this kit is everything needed to just install and go or does it require parts like the old headliner board, oil sail panels, and old sun visors?

Nope, everything you need is included. I ordered the same kit for my Trans Am a couple months ago. Everything fits great, and it matches the stock color well.
The Sail panels are held on with supplied Velcro, as opposed to the metal retainers on the stock ones.
All of the old parts can go in the trash. My headliner had to go in the trash actually, we tore it up trying to get it out. Although, I did keep my old sail panels.

Mine matched well and fit equally as good. It does sag a bit in the middle towards the front (t top car). My only complaint is that I had to put new velcro on twice because it just refused to stick, even with adhesion promoter the second time.

sails are easy enough to recover imo and i like the way the stock ones install vs velcro.

oh and if you want to try to recover them and have a joan fabrics nearby then look in your sunday paper for a 40% off coupon that come in their weekly flyer they have headliner fabric make sure you use that the foam backin absorbs inperfections in the headliner board i tried the spry glue it didn't last for me I used a tile adhessive from home depot its for non ceramic tiles and they have one for felt backed tiles thats what i used and a trowel with fine teeth to apply it for the sailes i used a spray adhessive for the main part and for the wrap around extra fabric I used a liquid cement worked great for me the fabric for both project cost me like $20 and i think i spent $10 on glue for the headliner I already had spray glue that i used on the sailed and the liquid cement i got at wal-mart for $1

I have found that the normal average price for the headliner at a shop if you remove it and reinstall it because i was pricing it out before i did mine was about $100 which wasn't bad i just wanted the challenge of doing it on my own
