Re: tan interior rare ?

I wouldnt say rare...just a bit less common than the normal black, red, grey. Grey was probably the most common third gen color followed closely by black and then red. I would put a want ad in the classifieds or just keep looking. Grey is ok but not as nice and eye catching as tan is IMO.

Re: tan interior rare ?

Tan gathers/shows dirt faster than any standard interior color i've ever seen. you couldn't pay me to opt for a tan interior. :/
yuck!

And you couldnt pay me to have a grey one cause they are boring and everyone else has one lol. I love a red interior in these cars but i know im one of the few. Red does date them a lot but...they are 80s cars after all

Re: tan interior rare ?

My car came with the same boring grey interior that 95% of these cars came with. I have always thought that the red interior was the coolest interior choice. Unfortunately my car is blue, so no red interior for me.

Honda I have a few blue pieces hanging around, I have a perfect front seat belt and a inside door trim runner. If you might be interested in them.

Re: tan interior rare ?

I am kicking around changing my carpet to black with all the Beechwood interior.... I think it would make it more modern plus I love black carpet. Anyone done this? I know there is beechwood on the lower door panels and on kick panels and consolde (easy fix) but I think the black would accent all the other black on the interior plus we need new carpet anyway since ours is faded.

I was going to do that also at one time, even buying all the stuff. But changed my mind. Hey rarebmx i have a good tip for you about the seat belt red release button. If you take some vaseline and let it set on there a day or more, they will go back to there nice rich red color! Mine look like new and I do it everytime I detail the inside. Just rub some on and off after you get the color back.

Thank you. I didn't even realize they were so faded. I will use the tip since I like stuff to be pretty much correct but always thinkking of different items to change but still "look" correct.

I would NEVER dye all my plastic, I would rather sell it and find black since it is so much more common. I cringed when I saw the post above painting all the hard to find Beechwood to black when black is in every junkyard.

Re: tan interior rare ?

There was a time where I was thinking about painting with the best spray you can use SEM paint. Good stuff. But a friend of mine did it and I realized I like mine so much better. I would have given him two black pieces for two beachwood I needed. To late. I need the two seat belt square rear covers for mine.

Re: tan interior rare ?

I have the tan interior. I'd trade for black except the headliner and carpet. But trade everything else straight across. The sills are shattered on the drivers side due to a import hitting the drivers door hard as hell.

Do you got both driver and passenger ones? It would make more sense to do them both at the same time.

My '84 has tan interior, however, the head liner, sail panels, and visors have all been changed to black. Believe me, this made a HUGE difference at how well the car looks. The next step is black floor mats to even everything out.

My '84 has a tan interior, and I think it compliments it quite well. I wouldn't change it, especially since the car is painted frost beige. Thats one of the things I liked best about the car when I bought it.

Looks like we have the exact same color combination. There are only 2-3 other people on the boards that have the cream exterior.

I can honestly say I have only seen one other Z28 the same colour as mine, around here, and that guy painted it white when he had it repainted.
